Top Mount Sink

A drop-in sink has a visible lip around its perimeter that rests flat on the countertop. The sink basin drops straight into theĀ countertop cut-out and the perimeter lip holds everything in place.Ā  Also, due to the nature of a top mount kitchen sink, the installers only need to cut a hole out of your countertop that fits the sink and put the sink in. Installation is way easier and goes faster, which can save money and time.

 

 

Under Mount Sink

 

An under mount sink is attached underneath your countertop. With undermount sinks, the countertop extends all the way to the sinkā€”even a bit more. If you’re tight on the room and need every possible square inch of counter real estate, undermount is the way to go. It Creates attractive, clean lines in your kitchen, Easy to wipe food and liquid messes directly into the sink and can be deeper for cleaning large pots and pans. Undermount sinks are not appropriate for counters that are not water-tight, such as wood.Ā Solid surface countertops are recommended for undermount sinks, since someĀ  countertop materials may not be strong enough to support the weight of the undermount sink.

 

 

Apron Front Sink

 

Apron front sinks is made of more modern materials like stainless steel. The installation have a lip that sticks out from the counter and are somewhat bare around the other three edges allowing for a slide-in installation. The sinkā€™s forward orientation eliminates the counter-top that causes the user to lean forward and strain more than necessary.
